Chapter 10: Comfort and Joy – part 6
Between the alcohol, Myers’ scent, and evidence of his arousal pressed between them, Addison’s willpower crumbled. She swallowed and licked her lips, her hand tightening around the cool artifact. She kept her eyes on his as she said carefully and concisely, “I promise to not harm you in any way when we meet for coitus.”
A stinging barb of cold surged into her hand and up her arm. Addison’s eyes widened in surprise and she winced. The discomfort quickly faded, but doubt crept in. What did I promise? What constitutes harm in his mind? He misinterpreted seduction for taking advantage!
“Now what?” she whispered. Maybe it wasn’t too late to walk away.
Shane answered by pressing his body against hers. Their mouths met as they groaned from the contact that had been denied them for so long. The artifact hit the mossy ground with a thump and was forgotten.
As Addison’s hands slid down his back to his ass, Shane pushed one of her dress’s thin shoulder straps aside. Dark silk fell away from darker skin. His pale hand cupped her breast, then kneaded, pulsing desire through them both. He tasted her neck — slightly salty and sweet — as his other hand nudged the other strap off. Shane pulled back long enough for the silk to fall away from Addison’s spectacular bosom. He admired it for a split second, then knelt to take one breast in his mouth.
Addison gasped as his tongue lathed the hardened nub. Her back arched, and Shane shivered and moaned, straightening to find her lips again.
Her dress fell to the ground. Shane stared, drinking the sight of her. A wisp of a G-string hid part of her body. Shane ripped it off with a thought.
Addison surprised him with a throaty chuckle. Then she surprised him even more by shoving one hand down his pants. Her fingers curled around his dick, then tickled the head.
Shane came, pouring two years of frustration into the cry. Slumped against Addison, his body shook from her laughter — a beautiful, joyous sound — as her fingers began to move. They slipped wetly over sensitized skin. Shane gasped and laughed, mock-protesting, until he couldn’t take any more. “No, stop,” he panted. Addison did.
Once Shane caught his breath he stood up straight and met Addison’s dark eyes. Dilated pupils had nearly consumed her irises. “My turn,” she purred, tugging his shirt over his head.
“Yes.” He idly caressed her back, neck, and breasts as Addison ran her hands and mouth over Shane’s arms and chest. He luxuriated in her touch, scent, and mind as she took her time exploring and undressing him. Where the woman got the willpower he didn’t know.
Ironically, Shane grew impatient first. He dropped to his knees again. With nearly all of their barriers down he felt a hint of what she felt and how swollen she was. Moving his face between her legs, he inhaled her musk. Her swell of ardor made him chuckle.
He nuzzled, licked, then nipped. Addison’s orgasm consumed them both.
The only reason Addison stood upright was the tree trunk at her back and Shane’s hands on her hips. She caught her breath, her fingers curling through her lover’s hair. “Fuck,” she murmured.
Shane chuckled as he stood up. Not yet. Renewed ardor coursed through them as her nipples brushed against his bare chest. Hands caressed, mouths met, and tongues danced.
Addison rocked against him, tangling her mind with his. His desire fed hers, and soon they were rolling in the cool grass, panting and gasping and clutching. I want you, she said needlessly. At the moment it didn’t seem such a terrible thing to admit. She wiggled against him, lifting her hips just enough to press him against her.
That was all the invitation Shane needed. He gripped her hips and thrust into her. They hissed, then moved together until everything became a blur of sensation.
Shane stared idly at the few stars not blocked by the arboretum’s canopy. For once he didn’t wonder which his father had come from. With Addison laying on top of him he didn’t care. His hands wandered over her smooth, toned body, completely sated and fighting off sleep. They needed to leave before a guard found them.
“Come to my quarters,” he blurted.
Harris lifted her head long enough to scowl at him. “Prat,” she muttered, letting her head drop to his chest. You couldn’t keep your mouth shut, could you?
Although part of him said to do just that, Shane’s pride spoke up. You seemed to be enjoying my mouth earlier.
Harris growled, then rolled off him. Shane happily ogled her as she stood and slipped into her dress. Then her mind disappeared behind her shields. “Our ‘coitus meeting’ is over,” she informed him, “so I’m free to tell you that you’re the most insufferable, arrogant bastard I’ve ever met.”
Although he didn’t feel as smug as he thought he should, Shane erected his mental shields and smirked. Otherwise he didn’t move. Let her get an eyeful, he thought. “Takes one to know one.” If the barb irritated Harris she didn’t let it show.
Assuming she’d teleport away soon Shane added, “So, when shall we get together again? Tomorrow night, somewhere more private?”
Addison should have felt smug about getting the first word and taking control, but all she felt was regret. It was further proof of how complicated things became when she had to deal with Myers. She’d been thinking about going someplace more private, but the moment he suggested it her ego kicked in. She wouldn’t take back what she said, so she replied, “Fine. Tomorrow night. Where?”
Since she’d agreed to see him again, she openly admired the view as Myers dressed. “Neutral’s better. I’ll rent a recreation suite.”
Addison wrinkled her nose. The suites were Triptych’s equivalent of a by-the-hour motel.
Myers rolled his eyes at her. “Please. I’ll rent a luxury one and leave the number on your voice mail. You can teleport straight there.”
“Very well.” With that settled, Addison scanned the area for the stone-like artifact. Spotting it, she telekinetically pulled it to her hand. Such a small thing to have so much power.
She looked up to find Myers scowling at her. “I know.” Resisting the urge to scold him, she handed over the cobblestone. She’d gotten what she wanted, so it was time to leave. Yet her gaze lingered on Myers.
The memory of her daughter’s sleepy words surfaced. You’re addicted to each other.
Addison gave herself a shake, then a polite smile to Myers. “Tomorrow night, then.”
Myers nodded. “Yeah.”
He seemed disappointed, which annoyed Addison. What more could the man want? Frowning, she bid him goodnight and teleported away.
