Boy has this post been a long time coming! Now that we've got the kinks worked out of the point-counting software, it's time to let you all use the shares you've been racking up. But first, here's how you earn them.
Earning shares*
Unless otherwise indicated, each of the following earns you one share.
- One forum post
- A tweet containing #strangelittleband, #Uhopping, #AGdate, or "Strange Little Band"
- A tweet replying to/containing @strangelilband, @addisonharris, @shane_myers, @ashlynnharris, or @brainiacjake
- Linking to SLB from your blog or website
- Friending SLB on Facebook or Livejournal
- Reporting a typo somewhere on the SLB site. Please report typos in a comment. One typo report = two shares
- Each review posted on Web Fiction Guide, EpiGuide, SciFi Matter, or Muse's Success is worth 10 shares.
I'm sure this list will grow. Also, if you're not sure if we're counting your tweets, please tell me your Twitter username. I'll add it to your SLB account so your tweets are counted.
Redeeming shares*
- Ask any character a question for 15 shares. Major spoilers will not be divulged, though. Please give us a week to answer questions.
- Voting for bonus stories, starting with the November 23rd story. One share equals one vote, but you can vote as many times as you like. So if you really, really want a particular bonus story topic, throw 20 shares at it. I'm afraid that the nifty polls will have to go to implement this. There will be a lot forum posts to keep up with the running total.
- Make a cameo appearance by spending 50 shares.
Writing this made me realize that I need to make sure that everyone's been credited appropriately. Will do this week. Vanessa, I'll also email you about how to use the point-counting stuff.
