I'm still learning the ins and outs of bbPress. It's pretty bare bones, which I like, but that means that many of the bells and whistles we're use to are absent. So what sort of add-ons would you like? Possibilities:
- smilies/emoticons
- signatures
- bbCode

Duly noted. I'll get emoticons, sigs, and bbCode going as soon as possible, and probably in that order. It may be a few days, though. First I've got tomorrow's SLB post to write, a little day job work to do, lawn to mow, and a dog to bathe.
I personally wish I were clever enough to write a virus that would infect everyone and everything that used graphical smilies and deleted the hell out of them forever, but I think I'm a minority.
On the other hand? Avatars. Avatars are awesome.
I don't mind smiles, but prefer text ones like ;)
What abouts avatars? Even mini ones? I find it easier to keep track of who says what then rather than having to read a name. Maybe that's laziness on my part.
EDIT: oh, and are there 'levels'? or will we be mere employees forever? i like levels.
There are no levels built in to bbPress, but I will look for a plugin.
Right now getting the frikkin' avatar plugin to work is top priority. There will be avatars in a day or two, promise!
Next request: Notifications. Email notifications when someone replies to a post you made, and the ability to watch threads and get notification when replies are made to watched threads.
(I know you can do RSS feeds, but then I have to open my RSS feed reader. My email is open 24/7 and I get instant notification when I get a new email)
