In the next week or so my sweetie is going to start making Shane crystals out of solid aluminum. (No guarantees that they'll grant you mad paranormal skillz.) If you were to buy or receive one, would you want it to be a keychain? A necklace pendant? It'll be about 1.5 in. (3.8 cm) long and a half inch (1.25 cm) wide. Please comment or vote in the poll.

necklace would be cool, bet it would look snazy on a little chain. Seems like it would be a good key chain accessory... though maybe the debate would be helped if you posted a prototype pic?

B and I finalized the design over dinner. :) They'll be made from hexagonal aluminum stock. The ends will be cut into a nifty geometric shape. I'll post a sketch tonight or tomorrow. :) Once B has made one I'll post a photo.

The prism loot is really going to happen! Almost there. Going to order the hex stock this week.

I've drawn two versions to scale so you can see how big they'd be in real life. People who want a pendant, do you prefer the smaller one? I thought that the larger version (marked "Keychain") was too bulky. Let me know by replying here, on FB, or on Twitter. I'm @tenaciousN on the latter.

Also, the ends of the prism may be a bit more complicated than what's pictured above. It's a compromise between coolness and ease of manufacture.

I'm in the keyring group, but yes, a smaller size for a pendant would make sense.
