Spoiler: Mostly right. The spirit Chairman Carlyle summoned made Addison and Shane see their worst fears in the right situations. So Daniel arranged it so that Shane saw Daniel "getting hot and sweaty" :) with a woman. Due to the magick Shane saw Addison. A witch or psychic was there to make sure that Shane didn't kill anyone.

Last chapter 7 spoiler for now: Carlyle's magick messed with Addison in the beginning of part 16. In reality Shane was just talking with Joon. The magick made Addison see what she most feared: Shane cheating on her, in part due to her baby weight. From Shane's POV Addison teleported in, gaped, then freaked out and tried to take control of him and Joon. And it went downhill from there. Bwahaha!

Not really a lot of spoilers in Chapter 7, Part 18.
Daniel was able to distract Ashlynn from her memories of the "dark, twisty thing," and once he reports it back to The Chairmen (and he will), the little girl will never bring it up again.
