FAQ
- Is this a band’s website? Like the site of a musical group?
Nope. This is serialized fiction. No music here. - What is serialized fiction?
Serialized, or serial, fiction is a story told in installments, usually in chronological order. Since it’s online, SLB is a webserial. - Where should I start reading?
That’s up to you. Most people start at the beginning. Posts are organized into chapters, so you can jump around if you’d like. Look under “Categories” in the middle column. - Why the title “Strange Little Band?”
The title comes from a quote by Erma Bombeck.
The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another’s desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together.
It’ll make more sense as the story progresses.
- Who drew the illustration in the top right corner?
Credit goes to the talented Brian Goff. He’s fast and fun to work with. His portfolio is chock full of good stuff. - Ads? Seriously?
We decided to put a few discreet ads on SLB to recoup the cost of setting up and promoting the site. If we get in the black, sweet!
If the ads really bug you, try installing ad-blocking plugins or software.
