Strange Little Band is the ongoing story of Addison and Shane, two self-centered, amoral psychics who work for the cut-throat Triptych Corporation. Their insular, comfortable lives are disrupted when, due to Triptych’s machinations, they become unlikely parents. How can they raise a child when they can’t trust each other?

New installments are posted on Tuesday. Bonus stories are on hiatus for the foreseeable future. If you’d like to start at the beginning, read the prologue.

Technically SLB is a serialized dark paranormal romance. Hopefully that label won’t scare you away. Fabio doesn’t make an appearance, and no bodices are ripped. Promise.

Strange Little Band sprang unbidden from the imaginations of Nancy Brauer and Vanessa Brooks. We’d been writing together in a few online RPGs. Then without warning Shane Myers and Addison Harris demanded to have their stories told. We started emailing scenes back and forth. In less than a year we dreamed up 140,000 words (!!!), greatly amusing ourselves in the process.

Initially we toyed with the idea of shaping all of those emails into a novel. Then I discovered webserials/blog fiction. Vanessa and I decided that it’s a great format for SLB. A little WordPress and a lot of copying and pasting later, and voila: the further adventures of Addison and Shane are delivered straight to your screen.
